We offer a range of services for body contouring and sculpting, ranging from Ultrashape (which is completely external and non-invasive) to Smartlipo (invasive but very gentle) to Vaser (invasive and very powerful). We have recently added the Coolsculpting, a worldwide hit of a non-invasive body contouring device, to our new Body Treatment Center in Liat Towers.
CoolSculpting
Coolscupting is a totally non-invasive treatment that works on the principle of Cryolipolysis. What this means is that fat cells die after they have been frozen and thawed. The surrounding tissues like the skin, nerves and muscles are always unaffected.
But it's not as simple as it sounds. Years of R&D by Zeltiq has created an FDA approved fat-busting device that has been safely and successfully used in numerous countries over the last few years.
Coolsculpting has been endorsed by numerous celebrities and really does not need any introduction. The only down side is when multiple areas are treated, the combined soreness of all the areas can be a little unbearable.
This is where Ultrashape comes in handy. Areas treated by Ultrashape does not does not feel sore or bruised.
Ultrashape
Ultrashape is body sculpting and contouring treatment for those who lead an active lifestyle, who cannot afford any downtime.
This totally invasive treatment uses focused ultrasound to destroy fat cells under the skin. Beams of harmless ultrasound energy are fired into the fat tissues. At a point where the beams intersect, it produces a shockwave that shatters fat cell membranes.
The destroyed fat cells then releases its contents which are handled by a naturally occurring system within the body that normally deals with weight loss. The fats are transported to the liver and are safely discharged. Clinical studies have shown that there are no significant elevations of blood lipids following Ultrashape treatments.
For the results, clinical studies have shown results ranging from 2-10cm of reduction in circumference following 3 treatments of Ultrashape.
We operate the 3rd generation Ultrashape which incorporates the Vertical Dynamic Focus (VDF), a technological improvement over previous models. With the VDF, each shot destroys 3 times as much fat as previous models. The VDF also allows for treatments closer to the skin surface. Being able to treat closer to the skin surface lets Ultrashape approach some of the finer sculpting that one gets with Vaser and High definition vaser. (This last point is "in theory" only. The VDF technology is very new and when we have the results on a large enough series of patients, we will update you. Please follow our blog for the latest on this.)
Ultrashape is particularly suitable for men wanting to trim their mid sections. Our experience with Vaser over the last 3-4 years has been that among all the body part we treat, the abdomen is the most uncomfortable after liposuction. The swelling gets in the way of many normal activities. And most men tend to be very active, so a downtime of one week is mentally, more so than physically, unbearable.
Ultrashape is therefore the treatment of choice for male patients wanting to reduce fat in the abdomen and flanks.
For areas like the thighs and the arms, the recovery time after Vaser is not so bad. And because of its efficiency and effectiveness, Vaser remains our treatment of choice to sculpt and contour the thighs and the arms in women.
