Body Sculpting or Volumizing Treatments

VASER (Extremely Efficient)

For those with larger areas to sculpt, the treatment of choice is VASER.

VASER uses high-frequency sound waves delivered through a probe inserted under the skin to disrupt fat-pockets. The emulsified fat and tumescent solution is then gently sucked out using a patented Vent-X suction system that also ensures minimal trauma.

Nerves, blood vessels, muscles and other important structures are not disturbed by the sound waves. This is the unique advantage of VASER LipoSelection. Large areas can be treated, but without drawn-out recovery periods, and minimal bruises and the swelling. Skin over the treated areas tighten up slightly.

Areas like the arms and thighs are still best treated with Vaser, we feel. Somehow the R&D for most non-invasive devices like Ultrashape or Coolscuplting seems to be based on abdominal wall fats. When these devices are applied for thigh fats or arm fats, the results are suboptimal.

Ultrashape & Coolsculpting

Ultrashape and Coolsculpting are a totally non-invasive body contouring device that completes our range of services that are designed to let you achieve the figure and body shape that you desire. Within reasonable limits of course.

Ultrashape as a company has a long history (since year 2000) of applying cutting edge technology for external body body contouring. It revolutionaized the use of focused beams of ultrasound to destroy fat cells. The newest model of the Ultrashape will take this even further with variable depth focal points for the beams of ultarsound to destroy fat cells. This will mean that treatment can occur deeper as well as closer to the surface of the skin.

Coolsculpting works by freezing the fat deposits. As it thaws, a percentage of the crystalized fat cells die off. The surrounding tissues like the skin, nerves and muscles are always unaffected. This translates into a perceptible reduction in the size of the treated area at the end of 2 months.

Both treatments have their individual advantages. Coolsculpting is a single session treatment so its quite good for busy people. Ultrashape incorporates skin tightening RF, so it's great for those with a bit of loose skin. Ultrashape is also ideal for those who cannot tolerate the soreness in the treated areas associated with Coolsculpting.

Macrolane

Macrolane is the newest addition to the Body Contouring family of treatments. While it can be used to augment any part of the body, it is most commonly used on the breasts.

Smartlipo (Incredibly Gentle)

Smartlipo is generally a disappoint among all Liposuction techniques. Only with very small areas, does it yield results. Areas like the neck, chin and cheeks. Otherwise, Smartlipo is used for touch ups of very small areas after other forms of liposuction. With hindsight of years of using Smartlipo, the limitations are quite clear now.

After all, we pioneered the use of Smartlipo in Singapore some 7 years ago.

So for those who need to sculpt and contour very small areas like the chin and cheeks, the extremely gentle Smartlipo is the good option. Expect the swelling to subside by the 2nd or 3rd day. Bruises are rare. And if any, they are barely noticeable. This is the beauty of the treatment called Smartlipo.

Smartlipo in its purest form does NOT involve any suction. Smartlipo followed by suction is just basically a hybrid with traditional (or conventional) liposuction. Fats cells membranes that are destroyed by the action of the laser will be absorbed by the lymphatic system. And additional suction on the pretext of sucking out the destroyed fat-cell membranes and oil is just... conventional liposuction.

Radiofrequency - Cellulite Reduction

With Radiofrequency treatments, the fat cells and their surrounding fibrous tissue contract. Some fat cells are destroyed in the process, but very little. The effect of the contracted fats is like wearing a pair of nylon stocking. The leg looks and feels "firmer", skin tighter and the appearance of cellulite decreases. Hence, Radiofrequency is an excellent treatment for cellulite control. Most of our patients merely return for 6-9 monthly treatments to maintain cellulite free legs.

Liposuction is not a good option for the treatment of cellulite. Because inevitably some degree lumpiness occurs after liposuction.

We do not use Radiofrequency to reduce localised fat (i.e.. Radiofrequency cannot replace Liposuction). But we use RF in the follow-ups after VASER. In this case, RF is used to increase blood circulation which then reduces swelling and bruises, and hasten healing. RF is NOT used to augment liposuction.
