Juvederm
The Painless dermal filler
Juvederm, from the makers of BOTOX (Allergan Inc), has now superceded Restylane as our choice of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. We have used Juvederm extensively and found it to be excellent. Probably better than Restylane. It is everything we liked about Restylane but much easier to inject (therefore assurance of a better job). The areas injected with Juvederm feels much smoother and softer than with Restylane. Longevity wise, it has already out-lasted Restylane so far. For our experience over the last one year, Juvederm's results on the nasolabial fold lasts about 9 months.
Juvederm with Lidocaine
Lidocaine contained within the filler material takes away all the pain sensation the very moment Juvederm is injected under the skin. Even the massaging becomes painless. Initially skeptical, we are now completely convinced that the addition of lidocaine makes the entire experience so much more bearable than without. It becomes, in fact, quite pleasant to have filler injections. I can't imagine going back to using any filler that does not have lidocaine in it.
The areas that we use Juvederm on are the nasolabial fold (so called laugh lines), the nasojugal groove (the tear trough) and the nose-bridge.
Voluma
But Voluma acting in a 3D manner to rejuvenate the face gives even better results than targeting these grooves and fold in isolation. For this reason, we use Voluma nowadays to re-drape the facial skin thus improving the nasolabial groove, the tear trough, the jowls and marionette lines altogether in one fell scoop.
