Non-surgical Facelifts
for the treatment of the sagging face
The treatment of the sagging face needs to be viewed from a 3-dimensional perspective. Facial sculpting and volume restoration are as important as, if not more important than, skin tightening. It's no use tightening skin when the skin eventually has now where to drape and ends up still hanging loosely. Similarly, there is no point in tightening skin when the bulges like the jowls continue to weigh down on the face.
Our approach of combining either volume-replacement OR facial-sculpting with skin-tightening achieves the best outcomes in Non-surgical Facelifts.
Hollowed Face
This is common among Caucasians (although there are exceptions). As one ages (past the 30's), the mid-face hollows out. Where once the skin was supported, it now has no where to drape. Skin hangs loosely as the jowls, the naso-labial folds and the naso-jugal groove.
Treatments:
- The best treatment would be VOLUMA in a procedure called The Liquid Facelift.
- Ulthera is great for this type of face, because the energy is targeted at only the fibrous layer. The fats are not heated up or shrunk in the process.
- Titan' s heat does not reach the fat layer, and is therefore suitable for this type of face.
- Thermage would not be so good because the energy tends to contract fats and shrink the face further.
Heavier Set Faces
This is common in Asian (although there are exceptions). In fatter faces, the fats tend to drag the cheeks down as one looses elasticity in the skin. One gets the "bull-dog looks".
Treatments:
- Titan would not be so useful. The weight on the cheeks makes this treatment less effective.
- Thermage or RF shrinks the fats and contracts the face while lifting the skin. There is a risk of over-shrinking the face making it look gaunt. So this is usually not a good option.
- Ulthera does not shrink the facial fat and as such will not run the risk of ending up more gaunt. The degree of lifting is stronger and more definite than with Titan or Thermage.
- Ulthera combined with Smartlipo of the lower face and chin may in some cases be needed for a more dramatic result.
